This is a fantastic first entry to what I hope is a series. The characters are believable, well-written, deep, and yes, gay and bisexual without being over-the-top and the romance and relationships are so real. This story has a plot; several actually, but they're all linked and tied up at the end very nicely. It's a bit long, but you won't be able to put it down. Excellent book and storyline. Mr Simmons is a very creative and talented author. His ability to intertwine the narrative and emotions draws you into the story. I look forward to more from him.

Interesting new world..well written ..this dry desert world leaves you thirsty for more..can,t wait to read the next book to see how gods and men love together
This story follows multiple characters at a time. This isn't always my favorite because I have a tendency have one favorite and get impatient to get back to said character. Having said this I also want to say that this author does an excellent job in keeping my just interested enough with the other characters that I don't get so impatient that I gave up the story. In face I immediately bought the sequel as soon as I finished.
This is an extremely imaginative book that expertly manages to weave different story plots together to a satisfying conclusion . I will admit that, at first, keeping track of the various names was a bit daunting. I soon found that it was not a problem at all. Well worth picking up and reading
